HBTC News: Las Calaveras EL 2019 Launching Soon

Starting in 2014, the Nashville based Crowned Heads have made a yearly release of Las Calaveras. This cigar is meant to pay tribute to those we have lost during the previous year. Each year has a unique blend and unique look, and they are highly anticipated every year.

For the first time, the Las Calaveras cigar will have the initials ‘CO’ on the band. This pays tribute to Cano Ozgener, the man who founded CAO International back in 1968. Jon Huber, co-founder of Crowned Heads, worked for CAO for many years.

“When Cano passed on June 9th of last year, the cigar industry lost a true trailblazer and innovator. At the same time, I lost a mentor, friend, and father figure. He meant so much to all of us at Crowned Heads, and he touched the lives of far too many to mention. His legacy lives on not only in the cigar business, but in the lives of those whom he came in contact with during his lifetime.” said Jon Huber

The 2019 Las Calaveras will feature a Habano Oscuro wrapper, with filler and binder all from Nicaragua. They are made at My Father Cigars, S.A. in Esteli, Nicaragua. Production is limited to 1700 24-count boxes and 2500 3-count samplers (containing one cigar of each size). They will ship in June of 2019.
