HBTC News: 2020 PCA Trade Show Cancelled

In a press release today, the Premium Cigar Association (PCA) made the announcement that the 2020 PCA Convention and Trade Show has been cancelled. The flagship trade show for the premium cigar industry was scheduled to take place July 10—14, 2020 at the Sands/Venetian Convention Center and Hotel. The cancellation is in response to public health concerns surrounding COVID-19.

PCA is working on new methods for manufacturers to connect with retailers. The decision to cancel is meant to fast-track some of these connection strategies in order to help support retailers and manufacturers in light of economic strife. Details of these new services will be announced by the PCA in the coming weeks.

“After much deliberation and careful discussions of every aspect of our annual convention and trade show, the PCA Board and the Associate Member Advisory Board have made the difficult decision to cancel our current event scheduled for July. The annual event is an important fixture in the premium tobacco industry, and we were very excited to bring a whole new experience to the industry this year. However, the public health and safety of our attendees, staff and volunteers outweighed any other considerations in our collective decision-making process. We understand how important this event is to the business needs of both our manufacturers and our retailers, so we are re-doubling our efforts to create innovative new ways to aid our members this year,” said PCA Executive Director Scott Pearce.

HBTC will continue to inform our readers as new information becomes available.
