The original CAO Vision was introduced to the premium cigar market back in 2007. In that original release, the Vision was available in a variety of sizes, and with a different blend of tobaccos but this 2020 version is only made in a 7 x 50 Churchill. The original Vision was also selected for a spot on the 2007 Cigar Aficionado Cigar of the Year list. The packaging for the 2020 release is elaborate, with a high-gloss finish and built in LED lights. Here is Matt's review of the 2020 CAO Vision.
A few years ago, Alec Bradley released a new line called Project 40, and it has become a very popular line with many cigar smokers. This is the first entry in an experimental series from Alec Bradley. We were able to learn more about this cigar on a couple of different episodes of HBTC Live. First, Alan Rubin discussed it when he was our guest on Episode 41. Alec and Bradley Rubin also talked a little about it on Episode 99. Here is Matt's review of the Project 40 5.50
Even with all of the respect and accolades given to the brand, the Fuente family remains humble and they strive to serve whenever possible. One of the most recent examples of that service is the Rare Pink line of cigars. Essentially the Rare Pink line is a unique new blend of the famed Hemmingway line. A portion of the proceeds from every box sold goes directly to The American Cancer Society-Making Strides Against Breast Cancer.
A new cigar company based in Virginia made their debut in the last couple of years. Stolen Throne cigars first hit the market with a cigar called Crook of the Crown, and we started hearing about it from friends. We invited Lee Marsh to come on HBTC Live to hear the story of Stolen Throne and the blends in their portfolio. Here is Matt's review of the Crook of the Crown Robusto.
Since the launch of Epic Cigars by Dean Parsons, the brand has steadily grown and gained a following and also garnered a solid reputation in the industry. Even after selling the brand a couple of years ago, Parsons still maintains the role of brand manager/ambassador. In celebration of the tenth anniversary, the Epic Ten was released. The cigars are presented in a beautiful bright red, high gloss 10-count box. Only 1,000 boxes were produced. Here is Matt's evaluation of the Epic Ten.
